Is my roll still good? (tiny holes, dryness, staleness)
King Palm rolls are real dried palm leaves, not paper, so some natural variation is normal:
- Tiny holes or thin spots do not typically affect how the roll packs or smokes.
- Rolls feeling drier than expected can happen depending on storage conditions and time since packing.
If a roll feels too dry, here is how to bring it back:
- Damp paper towel method: wrap the roll loosely in a slightly damp paper towel, seal it in a bag or container for a few hours, then check the texture.
- Hydration pack method: place a fresh humidity pack in a sealed container with the roll overnight.
- Steam method: briefly hold the roll near (not in) steam, such as from a hot shower, to add moisture without getting it wet.
If something feels more seriously wrong, contact support with a photo and order number.
Getting an even burn
Use a chunky or coarse grind rather than fine powder, and pack the herb evenly using a "clock" method by distributing it around the roll (12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock) rather than concentrating it in one spot, for the most even burn.
Resin or "ooze" in the filter
Some resin pooling near the filter is normal, especially with oil-rich herb. The more resinous the material, the more likely you will see this. It does not indicate a problem with the roll.
Packing stick, missing or smaller than expected
Flavor tubes intentionally ship without a separate packing stick. The paper insert included with the tube doubles as your packing tool. Pouches normally include a full-size packing stick. If yours was smaller than expected, contact support with your order number.
Flavor tip size varies slightly
Our flavor tips are hand-rolled, so small size differences (roughly 7 to 8mm) between packs are expected, not a defect.
Filter tip design
Our filter tips use a paper insert with the flavoring built directly into the paper. Just a gentle squeeze to activate, no popping required.
Activating the flavor tip safely
Pinch the filter tip and squeeze firmly, keeping the roll pointed away from your face and any valuable or breakable objects while activating.
